 SaltLick BBQ  in Driftwood was recommended and we drove by on Saturday!  It's a huge place with a lot of patio dining.  You can bring your own ice chest full of beer to the dining room but not on the patio!  We don't need an ice chest full of beer to eat bbq.  This is usually the type of place we would pass as it looked like a tourist spot.  A guy where Paul worked on Monday said it was but we still went on Monday.  We arrived early and they have a wine tasting place.  No one was there, the wine was ok for Texas and Paul had a beer.  You can buy beer in the wine place, you can't buy any alcohol in the restaurant!  You can buy it there and take it with you to the restaurant.  Interesting alcohol rules in Texas.  I think Texas is where we have seen drive thru cocktails but you can't buy it in the restaurant, just at there wine garden!  It was all right there. Family Time in San Diego

  We rented a huge house in Oceanside CA where we all gathered.  I never thought being a grandparent would be better than being a parent!  Both are so rewarding and I’m reminded everyday but especially when we get to spend time with our girls A beautiful 6 days with just our family. The girls were so much fun to have around. Lacey built one more gingerbread house and Carrie played lots of card games with Aunt Stephanie and Paul. Our view was always interesting, many morning we could not even see our neighbors between us and the ocean.
