Burr, it's cold! Tucson, Arizona

Image
It's cold but not as cold as Texas!  We are waiting a week to continue to Texas.  The weather gods say it will be warmer next week so off we go. We are staying at Rincon Village West RV park right near a very nice walking path. Teddy and I take walks everyday but not until 11 when it has warmed up to 50 degrees.  Still cold but the skies are blue and the sun feels great. Not the prettiest path, but it's quiet and seems to go forever without crossing a street Todays walk I saw these birds hanging in the sun

Huachuca City

Image
Today we rode to Huachuca City for Paul to visit a dealer and then took a nice drive thru the mountains to Nogales which is an entry point to Mexico.  We did not go there! We stopped in a quiet little town called Patagonia where we saw a 1912 school that has been converted into a museum Then we continued towards Tucson where the RV is parked with a stop in Tubac which is an art town.  Lots of tiny shops with all kinds of things.  The true art was expensive so I didn't get anything

Wind and colder temps

Image
Yuma was windy as Southern California experienced winds like they have not had before and then the fires!  We arrived in Mesa for our winter retreat but it is really cold here.  Paul is still wearing shorts and a tshirt; I’m wearing 3 layers and my winter cap.  Moved to Mesa where we are staying at our favorite park:  Monte Vista RV Resort Monday we move to Tucson for a week.  We are waiting for things to warm up before we move east!

Oranges everywhere

Image
We are spending a couple days in Riverside where Paul will work and then we will head to Yuma, AZ. We stayed at Rancho Jurupa Park which is a county park and very nice. I think we stayed here once when we were living in the RV. Sunday morning Paul found a cool spot for breakfast at a small airport. The food was great and Paul enjoyed seeing planes take off. Flabob Airport was in a tiny neighborhood but had lots of memorabilia about flight. I wandered the statues while Paul went and saw some of the planes. After we got some groceries and then I found California Citrus State Historic Park. The park had lots of citrus groves, every kind of orange, lemons and grapefruit with a museum about the growing of citrus in the area. You could not pick the oranges as they have a company the picks them and then sells them at a roadside stand. Riverside had Orange groves everywhere. Not as many now but we saw many places where the trees were growing and producing oranges along the sides of the road. I...

Family Time in San Diego

Image
We rented a huge house in Oceanside CA where we all gathered.  I never thought being a grandparent would be better than being a parent!  Both are so rewarding and I’m reminded everyday but especially when we get to spend time with our girls A beautiful 6 days with just our family. The girls were so much fun to have around. Lacey built one more gingerbread house and Carrie played lots of card games with Aunt Stephanie and Paul. Our view was always interesting, many morning we could not even see our neighbors between us and the ocean. Other days we had spectacular views.                                        Lacey loved building things with the light up sticks The first day the kids all went to LegoLand and Paul and I went back to Anaheim where we had left the RV while we were in Oceanside. I had forgotten a few things that we really needed. On our way back we found a very...
