Paul & Denise’s RV Journey

  Thursday, February 22nd, 2024 Arrived at the Atlanta Motor Speedway and got settled in. Day two we went into Downtown Atlanta just to say we have been there. First stop was the Olympic Park, home of the  Summer Olympics  in 1996. A very pretty park right in the heart of Atlanta; you walk very far from the park and the graffiti and slums is  Atlanta Motorspeed way

  Our Nascar event is over and now we get to head West!  Memphis is our next stop.  We have been to Memphis before (in 2009) but we only saw Graceland and ate some barbeque, so this trip I am getting to see Beale Street and take a ride on the Mississippi. Memphis definitely has issues with trash and people dumping belongings anywhere along the countryside.  There are millions of tires discarded into the woods.  We are staying at a  T.O. Fuller State Park  which was a small state park within the city limits of Memphis.  The park is nice, quiet and litter free however the surrounding area is riddled with garbage.  The location is close to enjoy downtown but getting any groceries was a challenge. Memphis is definitely about Beale Street.  We took a tour that showed us a bus ride thru the highlights.  Probably the best was to see things quickly as driving in a city gets challenging unless you just want the highlights.   This b...

  Flew in to Houston to catch up with Paul and Teddy. Spent the weekend with Karol and her family. Very nice and quiet. Took a drive to Galvaston, where we dined on the water and enjoyed watching a cruise ship depart. We had a fire all day until the wind got to much and on Sunday I got to go and see Jeremy’s new home that he and his family were in escrow to purchase. Pearl River, Slidell LA Crossing the Mississippi River, heading East Swamps!
